Blanca Hernandez-Stingl

Sra. Stingl and Mr. Stingl

Hello and welcome to the Spanish Language Immersion Program. My name is Sra. Stingl and I will be your child's kindergarten teacher this year. I look forward to a fun and exciting new year.

My Background: This is my first year in the Del Mar Union School District. I spent the last 29 years teaching in the Chula Vista Elementary School District as a kindergarten/first grade bilingual/dual immersion teacher. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Bilingual/Bicultural Education and my master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum with an emphasis in Thematic Instruction from San Diego State University.

My Teaching Philosophy: Learning a second language will open doors to many opportunities in the future. I believe that learning should be fun and engaging to maximize the children’s interest and desire to learn. I employ all types of interactive themes to engage the children. I feel children learn best when the curriculum is integrated throughout the content areas. My motto is: College is your future! Our adopted college is Cornell University and founder Erza Cornell stated: 'I would found an Institution where any person could find instruction in any study.'

A Little Bit About Me: My husband and I live in Chula Vista with our daughter and son. I enjoy visiting different colleges and universities throughout the U.S. collecting t-shirts and sweatshirts. I love watching sports and spending time with family.
