Meet Principal Sleet

Mrs. Sleet
This year, Mrs. Sleet is in her 28th year as an educator. Mrs. Sleet is proud and honored to be the Principal of Del Mar Hills Academy. She has taught in the Del Mar Union School District for over 22 years (most of them at Del Mar Hills) with experience in third, fourth, and fifth grade. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Sleet has been a Teacher Leader in the Del Mar Union District. She has been a Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) Math Apprentice, a Modern Learning Studio teacher, and an Essential Elements of Instruction (EEI) Lead Teacher.
 
Mrs. Sleet attended San Diego State University where she earned a Liberal Studies Degree and a Teaching Credential. In 2005, Mrs. Sleet was Reading Teacher of the Year for the Del Mar Union School District.  In 2007, she was the recipient of the KPRI Teachers Make a Difference Award. In 2012, Mrs. Sleet was the Del Mar Hills Teacher of the Year and the Del Mar Union School District Teacher of the Year. In May 2016, Mrs. Sleet completed the Administration Credential Program through the San Diego County of Education.
 
Supporting and working with children is Mrs. Sleet's passion.  At Del Mar Hills, we are focused on educatng the whole child, igniting their genius and empowering our children to be decision makers and problem solvers.  Mrs. Sleet's focus is for each child to love learning and look forward to coming to school every day.
 
When Mrs. Sleet is not at school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. She is a huge sports fan, especially when it comes to the San Diego Padres!
 
Mrs. Sleet is extremely grateful to be the Principal of Del Mar Hills Academy!
